Intro to Handbuilding: 6 Week

$395.00

Thursdays, August 21 - September 25, 6 -9 PM

Sliding scale pricing (use codes below):

$355-$375-$395

This class is ideal for beginners, but also appropriate for those looking for a refresher to improve their technique.

Your instructor will guide you through the processes and techniques of handbuilding: rolling out slabs, pinching pots, attaching, sculpting, and coiling. You will explore the ways in which handbuilding provides flexibility and breadth of possibility in comparison to wheel throwing, and use your techniques to create various works of art, functional and sculptural. We will also discuss surface decoration and glazing techniques in this 6-week course.

This is a 6-week series class with 3-hour lessons every week includes studio time outside of class as well as materials: one 12.5 lb bag of clay, glaze, and tools.

Students will be notified when their work is ready for pick up after it has fired at the end of class, which usually takes about 3-4 weeks.
