ABOUT

Reclaim Clay Collective (RECC) is a POC, queer, women-owned community pottery + art studio located in the historic Tsue Chong fortune cookie factory in Seattle's Chinatown-International District. We offer flexible memberships, group classes for all skill levels, private lessons, workshops, and events.

Mission

Our mission is to nurture an intentional community that reclaims artistic spaces for underserved peoples, and to foster diversity through creative collaboration and mutual support so that all people have the chance to learn, be inspired, feel joy, and heal as their authentic selves.

ACCESSIBILITY

Accessibility means to be inclusive to the needs of everyone. We are committed to providing a platform for those historically denied access—physical, financial, or otherwise—to thrive and be successful in their artistic goals.

Ceramics can be strenuous on the body, so we offer easy-grip tools, personal assistance where possible, and are committed to meeting all persons where they are at in their process.

We value people over profit, always offering sliding scale and scholarship opportunities for underserved groups in our community.

sustainability

When we talk about our commitment to sustainability at the RECC, we are referring to our mindfulness of the effect that we have on our environment and natural resources. We are operating on occupied Coast Salish territory and pledge to honor the land we are on as much as possible. We reclaim our clay for reuse, purchase from businesses that prioritize eco-friendly practices, and recycle, reuse, and repurpose materials instead of replacing, wasting as little as possible to reduce our footprint on our planet so that we may preserve the quality of life for present and future generations.

Community REspect

Community means sharing knowledge, resources, and skills that allow us to work towards shared goals and uplift each other’s dreams. We are dedicated to our colleagues and our work while being motivated and inspired by those around us. We operate with respect and kindness for the uniqueness and value of each individual to create a safe and welcoming space for all.
