Come make a little something to keep close.
In this cozy, hands-on workshop, we’ll learn some basic hand sewing and textile construction techniques while making our own pocket alters — small, soft objects made to hold a little meaning, comfort, protection, or whatever you want them to be.
This is a three-hour class, with plenty of time to slow down and settle into the process. We’ll spend the class sewing, talking (or not), sharing little ideas, and creating together in a warm and welcoming space. There’s no need to have any sewing experience. We’ll take things slowly, learn together, and give you plenty of time to make something that feels like your own.
You’re encouraged to bring a few small trinkets, scraps, charms, or sentimental objects to tuck into your piece. They can be meaningful, silly, mysterious, or completely ordinary. A tiny photo, a favorite button, a stone you found somewhere, a bit of ribbon, anything that feels special to you. Sometimes it’s nice to make a soft little place for the things we love and want to keep near.
With October around the corner, we’ll lean a little creepy and cozy. Imagine tiny shrines, strange little companions, protective charms, and soft things for dark days. Something to tuck into a pocket and carry with you when you need a little extra comfort.
All materials and basic sewing supplies will be provided. Bring yourself, a few little treasures if you have them, and come get cozy with us.
