Come learn how to tie the Pan Chang knot (盤長結), or "Mystic Knot," and other useful skills for decorative knot tying! The Pan Chang is perhaps the most recognizable Asian knot, and is one of the eight symbols of Buddhism. Participants will learn about the Pan Chang from Ahmoy of Xiao Quilt.
This is an intermediate knot, but the class is open to beginners as well. Your instructor will show you how to construct tassels and incorporate stones, beads, and other decorations with your knot, with access to Ahmoy's collection of materials collected in Asia. Each participant will take home at least one knot, as well as tutorials and zines on the art of knot tying.
