Want to explore the intricacies of handbuilding with porcelain? This six week deep dive is all about working with this finicky yet beautiful material. Jess will provide demos on pinching, coiling, and incorporating color while sharing their expertise on making strong work. Particular emphasis will be placed on moisture control and creating secure attachments.
Students will engage in attentive and mindful ceramics practice while also exploring intuitive techniques such as slab nerikomi. By the end of the class, students can expect to have several finished pieces and the confidence to apply their new porcelain skills on their own. Some clay experience is recommended but not required.
