Intro To Wheel: 6 Week

$395.00

Sliding scale pricing (use codes below):

$355-$375-$395

This class is ideal for beginners, but also appropriate for those looking for a refresher to improve their technique. This is a 6-week series class with 3-hour lessons every week and includes studio time outside of class as well as materials: one 12.5 lb bag of clay, glaze, and tools.

Week 1 – Wedging, throwing basic forms

Week 2 – Throwing, trimming

Week 3 – Trimming, attachments

Week 4 – Surface decoration

Week 5 – Glazing

Week 6 – Glazing

For the first two weeks, we’ll go over centering, wheel skill building, and manipulating clay into a work of art, choosing several to keep. In week three we’ll show you how to refine and finalize your pieces with trimming techniques and attachments. In the final weeks, we’ll guide you through glazing and decorating and you’ll have time to complete your work. Students will be notified via the email used for purchase when their work is ready for pick up, which usually takes about 2-3 weeks.

While we always recommend being able to attend all weeks to ensure you can complete your pottery, we require participants to be present for at least Week 1 Introductions and Week 5 Glazing to ensure you have the necessary information to use our studio safely. If you are absent for these lessons we can not guarantee you will be able to complete your work, and missing this crucial information will disqualify you from using our studio independently in the future without retaking the series.
