Come learn how to tie the Lucky Knot with Ahmoy of Xiao Quilt! Lucky knots are a symbol of protection and prosperity in many Asian cultures—they decorate homes, temples, and businesses, bringing in good fortune. Participants will be able to create unique pieces that reflect their own personal style, while learning about the history of knot tying.
Your instructor will show you how to incorporate stone discs, beads, and other decorations with your knot, which you can turn into a key chain or wall hanging. Participants will have access to Ahmoy's bead collection, gathered from his travels in Asia. Each participant will take home at least one knot, as well as tutorials for the lucky knot and snake knot, and zines about different kinds of Asian knots.
